A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT FOR A FAIRY TALE LAND

Good ideas need to be financed.  Phasing the Integrated Waste Management System in Bihor County is co-financed from the Cohesion Fund through POIM 2014-2020 – Priority Axis 3 “Developing environmental infrastructure using efficient management resource “, distinctive objective (OD) 3.1 “Decrease the number of Non-compliant deposits and increase the preparedness of recycling wastes in Romania “. The project has a total value of 104,583,002 lei.

The project ” Waste Management System in Bihor County ” was co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013, through the Operational Program Environment, Priority Axis 2 – “Developing Integrated Waste Management Systems and Rehabilitation of Historically Contaminated Sites”, Domain Major intervention 2.1. – “Developing Integrated Waste Management Systems and Extension of Waste Management Infrastructure”.

Funding Contract no. 1424 / 26.03.2014 has an estimated initial value of 199,895,470 lei excluding VAT (44,406,414 Euros at the financing contract rate: 1 euro = 4,5015 lei) and an updated value after signing the procurement contracts of 149,948. 699 lei without VAT (33,310,829.59 Euros).

Phasing the Integrated Waste Management System in Bihor County will contribute to fulfillment  all commitments pledged by Romania through the Accession Treaty  to the European Union as well as to those set out in the strategic documents at national level (POIM 2014-2020, National Waste Management Strategy for the Horizon 2014-2020, approved in 2013, National Waste Management Plan, upcoming to be updated, etc.), regional (PRGD Region 6 North-West) and local.
